November 2020 Meeting Minutes

This meeting was once again outdoors at Hopkins Farm Brewery and we thank them again for hosting us on their off night!

OLD BUSINESS: 1) we brewed the Christmas beer about 3 weeks ago. It is done fermenting and Marc would like to see it bottled soon, likely this weekend. He will post on Slack for volunteers. The beer came in at 8%, quite dry, with a unique character from the yeast and not very spicy (definitely not enough ginger!!).

2) Tech Corner is still on Thursdays at 7PM. However, we no longer have it on the week of a monthly meeting. We may cut the sessions further due to poor attendance. We have started reserving a session for an upcoming brew style. We had a session in October for the Porter due in January. We will likely set up a session on Scottish Ales (due to be presented in March) in December.

3) LABS is still going. Ken hosted Sahti. There is the Tripel Karmeliet project that Adi and Linda will host in late winter or early spring. Marc has offered to host the Doppelweisenboch project in mid-summer. The Lambic Project will be in the Fall. There may also be an Oude Bruin project for those who brewed earlier this year. Check Slack for further details.

4) The Reward Program for Homebrewing is updated. You can check it here.

NEW BUSINESS: 1) We bought caps with the Libations Logo $40 for 200 count. We will start using them as early as this weekend to bottle the Christmas beer.

2) There will be no Christmas Party this year due to COVID.

3) Dues are due!!! Payments are available online on our website: https://www.libationassociation.org/membership-fee We won’t take cash this year. Checks are still a possibility but the online option is preferred. The club is paying the fee for the online payments so the cost is not higher this way.

4) Next year’s November will still be Non-traditional Styles: mead, cider, wine and we’ve added hard seltzer and non-alcoholic.

FINANCIAL REPORT: we have $807 in the bank, $157 in cash and 29 paying members.

Adi and Linda: brought a blueberry cider, a white wine. They also brought an Italian pilsner clone of the famous TipoPils.
